House Sitting FAQs:
What is the difference between Home Security Checks and In Home House Sitting?
Home security checks are daily or hourly checks (usually randomly placed throughout the day and evening) to make sure you house is secure and has not been vandalized or broken into. Additional services such as plant care, mail pick up etc. are available. Home Sitting is where a live-in house sitter takes care of your home as if they are living there. The advantage is that the house is lived in, and deters vandalism and crimes against your property.
I already am subscribed to a home security company. Why do I need a House Sitter?
Those that subscribe to a securty system soon find that it does not deter criminals and it is ineffective, especially when the house is alone. Police usually do not respond to a security alarm unless it has been verified (usually by the owner - and how would you know if you are on vacation or far away from your house?). Police also place security alarm responses as low-priority, meaning that the police usually take between 3-6 hours to respond to the call. Criminals know this and take advantage of the opportunity to fleece your home in that lengthy time frame. Criminals also note if a house remains quiet and not lived in and they scope out homes where it appears the owners are away. In addition, security alarms are very easily dismantled and rendered useless, especially with the homeowners advertising the type and service and alarm system with the alarm sign. Alarm companies use this as a form of advertising, not to deter criminals.
What does a House Sitter do?
House sitters act as house caretakers while you are away. They do the daily motions of taking care of your house, maintaining the house, taking care of your pets, watering plants, taking in the mail, paying the bills, shoveling the driveway, mowing the lawn etc. etc. In general, they make sure your house is the way you left it - clean, maintained and has not been a victim of vandalism or a break in. House sitters are recognized world wide as the number one crime preventor while you are away on vacation or business.

Yes, we offer house sitting services outside of Calgary. There may be a nominal charge for distance travelled, however, we do cover more than Calgary. What pets do you take care of?
We pet sit Cats and Dogs mostly, but have also taken care of bunnys, small rodents, and reptiles as well.
What pet services do you provide?
We provide total care for your pet while you are away on vacation or business. Cats and dogs enjoy their own environment and enjoy the company of a pet sitter. Cats may also enjoy our Cat Oasis in the comfort of our home.
Do you pet sit for cats and dogs who need medication or special medical attention?
Yes, we have many critters that have special needs and special medication to take. Call us and we'll discuss how we can help!
How do I know my pet is safe and doing fine while I am on vacation?
We offer you pictures and comments via our petcare blog. You can visit anytime and see how your pet is doing.
Do you offer Dog Boarding?
Yes, we can board your dog. Your dog will need to have all up-to-date vaccinations. We offer pickup and dropoff services as part of our dog boarding.
Do you offer pet boarding services in Calgary?
We currently offer our cat oasis play room for cats that are from the same household and that are of good demeanor. The cat oasis has everything a cat would need to feel safe and cozy including a window all their own. We also do pet boarding for dogs, however, we prescreen animals and do not board untrained animals.

We clean your entire home, from the kitchen sink to the toilet bowl.

What is the cost of a home cleaning?
The cost is determined by a cleaning estimate. We need to assess your square footage, the number of washrooms and kitchens and what services you desire. Costs will, therefore, vary occordingly. We are very competitive and offer a thourough cleaning service.
Do you do move in or move out cleanings?
Yes, we get many requests from home sellers, home buyers and renters who wish to have a clean home.
Do you clean apartments or condos?
Yes, many of our clients own apartments and condos.
Do you use all natural cleaning supplies?
Yes, we use all natural cleaning supplies unless requested otherwise.
Do you provide all the necessary supplies to clean my home?
We provide everything except a toilet brush. We also request we use your vaccuum.
